Motorola E1 ROKR Mobile Phone Review

The Motorola ROKR is a fantastic media playing phone from Motorola than combines the functionality and looks of other phones within the Motorola family with the ability to store and play back a vast amount of music that can be both downloaded from the internet, or alternatively transferred onto the phone from a PC.

The phone comes complete with all the accessories that you need for it to be used as your main media player, and supports most file formats in common use including MP3 and AAC, and although the phone comes with a 512 MB internal memory, this can be upgraded to 2GB – enough to store almost 500 songs in MP3 format.

The ROKR range of phones have drawn comparisons with the Apple iPod range thanks to the fact that they originally came equipped with iTunes, although this has subsequently been dropped, and the current standard that is supported is Real Player, which means that you can play pretty much any file type, including most video formats including Mpeg4 and 3GPP.

The Motorola ROKR phones are tri band compatible, which means that you can happily use the handset in most countries that you are likely to visit, and with its easy to use web browser and high speed GPRS connectivity, you will be able to download and upload files to the web quite simply and quickly.

The Motorola ROKR is able to connect with your PC through a USB 2.0 cable or Bluetooth wireless in order to ensure the fastest possible file transfer, and you can even charge the phone through a PC connection, making it the perfect complement when you are rushed, and want to get a charge and new music at the same time.

As you would expect from a modern mobile, the ROKR offers MMS photo messages, SMS text messaging, and even the capability of sending video clips to other mobile users, although video support will depend on network capabilities.

Although it is often seen as one of the low end phones in the Motorola stable thanks to its competitive price, the ROKR offers all the functions you would expect from a much more expensive handset, including the ability to display Microsoft Office files downloaded from the web and even to access online email wherever you are in the world.

If you are looking for a mobile phone that is hard wearing, well built, and offers great functionality at a price that is right, then the Motorola ROKR is the perfect choice for you.
